The Night Turned Gold

Salt on the table, red light on the wall.
You tap the glass and I forget it all.
The old door swings like it knows your name.
I came in quiet, I leave changed.
Come closer,
let the night turn gold. Hold me where the wild winds blow.
One more circle, one more chance.
Keep your hand in mine and dance.
The street is sleeping, our shadows on.
You smile like trouble, soft as a song.
