Late Nights Blues

I hear an engine humming
Just down the avenue
For a second my heart jumps
Thinking that it's you
I keep the porch light burning
Out of a stubborn habit guess
I'm still holding on
To the magic when we had it
Two mugs upon the counter
One is dust
And that old floorboard's creaking
Like it's still missing us
The city starts to quiet down
