Sugar Spill

You came in late, hair still damp
Saved me a seat by the cracked window
Foam on your sleeve, receipt in the cup
You laugh so hard, still sweet on my hand
Dead battery buzz, then your smile cuts through
Sugar on the table and
I lean into you
Cafe days, cafe days, we break and we make
Cafe days, cafe days, your name in the case
Sip the cracks, repeat
My heart on the tray
Cafe days, cafe days
Don't blink, stay
Don't blame me, stay
The spoon tap blasts like a glitch in the room
You drew a face and the cream on top
I kept my cool, you kept your grin
